TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
I hold the teaching profession to a high regard because of its significant impact on the future leaders of our society. I have been fortunate to experience two different education systems: the transmissive pedagogy in South Korea and the participatory pedagogy that involves classroom discussion and action learning in the US and Canada. After observing their strengths and weaknesses, I pursue a hybrid approach that emphasizes a balance between three main elements: sufficient guidance, self-directed learning and interaction.
